 This is the privacy policy of CHO-Photography.

 

This Policy describes how we treat personal information on the website where it is located.

 

This Policy may be updated from time to time, and the m=amended version will be published on the website.  This privacy policy is applied to personal information about individuals.

 

I take the privacy of your personal information very seriously.  I have based this policy on GDPR  requirements in the European Union, and also requirements of Singapore cata protection law under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

 

 

How do we receive your information?

We may receive information about you:

 

·       When you contact us directly, normally via our website when you make a general query, sign up to the newsletter,  or some other request,

·       From data capture at events that CHO-Photography attends,

·       When you use our website, we may collect information about the browser you are using.  We use tracking tools to collect internet and usage information from visitors.  This includes the referring URL and your IP address.  It also includes information about  the browser you used to visit the site and where you are located.  It may include the pages or URL’s of our site that you view during your visit and search terms you enter on our site.  We might look at what site you came from, or what site you visit when you leave us.

 

We collect information in different ways

 

·       We collect information directly from you.  For example, if you contact us.

·       We collect information about you passively.  We use tracking tools like browser cookies to collect information with you.  (see more below in the Cookie Policy as outlined by Squarespace)

·       We collect information about users over time when you use this website.

We may use your information (which we receive from you or third parties from the way you use our products or services) for a variety of purposes, including:

Email subscribers

What data I collect and where it is kept:  I collect only your email address when you sign up to receive updates about the website or blog updates.  The information is held within Squarespace and Google Docs.

 

Why I need this information:  I use this information to communicate with you about projects I am working on and sharing my ideas on photography.  I need it to be able to send you blog updates and quarterly newsletters.

 

How long I keep the data:  The information will be kept until you notify me otherwise; you have the right to be forgotten or unsubscribed.  Contact me if you would lie your data to be destroyed.

 

 

Site Users

What data I collect and where it is kept:  I may collect your IP address, pages used and views, and accessed, and information regarding your location.   This data is collected and stored in Squarespace.  The data allows me to analyse general trends, and nothing about you as an individual.  Your IP address in encoded and not visible to me.

 

 

Sharing Your Data

Under no circumstances is your data every sold or rented to a third party.  I may share your data in the following circumstances:

 

·       To service providers and affiliates (for example, PayPal, postal services  who assist in the delivery of my products and services

·       To third parties if I believe that the disclosure is advisable or necessary to comply with the law, to enforce or apply my terms and conditions, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of myself or others.  This may include exchanging information with other companies and organisations for fraud protections and credit risk reduction.

 

 

Access to Your Data

You may also contact me to request the data I hold to be destroyed.

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights)>. However, I may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive.  Alternatively, I may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.

 

I try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month.  Occasionally it may take longer than a month if your request is particularly complex, or you have made several requests.  In this case I will notify you and keep you updated.  Singapore law allows one year to make a response, but I will endeavor to respond much more quickly than this time frame.  

 

If you are not satisfied with my response  or believe I am processing your personal data not in accordance the law you can complain the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

 

 

Our Website

 

We, through Squarespace, try to keep our website secure.  However, you recognize when providing your information to us through our website or when you send us or ask us to send you any of your confidential information by email, that the internet and email communications over the internet may not be secure.  We cannot be responsible or any loss or unauthorized interception of information transmitted via the internet which is beyond our control.

 

Our Privacy Policy only applies to our website where it is located.  We are not responsible for the content, privacy or security of other websites.
